Mission & Vision

Mission: Upper Austrian Research GmbH (UAR) is the leading company for research of the federal province of Upper Austria and a key player in research, technology and innovation (FTI) policy. UAR plays a central role in defining a research strategy for Upper Austria that is geared to the future, further increasing excellence in the strategic research fields in Upper Austria and continually developing the province’s research structures.   Vision: Upper Austrian Research GmbH holds many shares in leading Public Research Organisations. The Member of UAR Innovation Network (UAR’s associated companies) provide companies with professional support for their innovation strategies. In cooperation with industry and other university and non-university research partners, research is carried out on new, innovative products, techniques and services. This close cooperation between science and industry results in knowledge being transferred directly to industry and creates a market-oriented process of innovation. The focal areas are found especially in the key technologies of innovative materials, information and communications technologies and mechatronics for use chiefly in manufacturing industry. With its extensive expertise in production research, the UAR Innovation Network also makes a vital contribution to meeting the many different challenges posed by medical technology.
