Mitch Davies takes over as President of NRC
On 28 December 2020, the EARTO member, the
National Research Council of Canada (NRC), announced that Mr Mitch Davies has been appointed as the new President. Dr. Roger Scott-Douglas, who was acting President, has returned to his other functions.
Mr Davies was previously the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Industry Sector, at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), being responsible for key sectors of the Canadian economy and overseeing industrial and technological benefits associated with defence procurement as well as the Investment Canada Act. Since 2006, Mr. Davies has held a number of senior executive positions at the department, including Senior Assistant Deputy Minister and founding executive of Innovation Canada.
The EARTO network warmly congratulates Mr Davies and looks forward to continuing its close collaboration with NRC.
