EIT Digital Report on European Digital Infrastructure and Data Sovereignty
On 5 June 2020,
EIT Digital published its new policy perspective report which focuses on the
“European Digital Infrastructure and Data Sovereignty”. This report offers an overview of policy motivations, trends, instruments and the roles of various actors in order to define and contribute to a stronger Europe’s digital sovereignty as well as to provide a scenario-based framework for digital policy development. In its conclusion, the report highlights the importance of connecting makers (industry) and shapers (authorities and citizens), wiith the aim of creating a sovereign European digital reality with innovation and regulation, through a coordinated action between the European Commission and EU Member States.
