EC sets out the European Green Deal
On 11 December 2019, the European Commission (EC) set out a
European Green Deal, a package of measures that enable European citizens and businesses to benefit from a sustainable green transition with a societal aspect. This package is an integral part of the EC’s strategy to implement the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, the sustainable development goals and the political priorities of EC President von der Leyen. The measures accompanied with an initial roadmap of key policies range from cutting emissions, to investing in cutting-edge research and innovation, to preserving Europe’s natural environment.
