EC published a Toolkit to help mitigate foreign interference in R&I
The European Commission (EC) has recently published a toolkit to help mitigate foreign interference in R&I. Several tools have been set up for EU higher education institutions to safeguard fundamental values such as integrity, institutional autonomy and academic freedom.
Research and innovation is an essential element to deliver solutions that help overcome global challenges. In this respect, it is necessary to protect the international networks of academic and technological cooperation from the various challenges they face. Through various mitigation measures proposed in the toolkit, the European Commission wants to create a comprehensive strategy to address these challenges arising from foreign interference.
This toolkit represents an important step in the European Research Area Policy Agenda in the field of academic freedom and has been developed in close collaboration with Member States and various stakeholders including RTOs.
