EC Consultation on EU Missions’ Calls
The European Commission (EC) opened an
online consultation on the EU Missions’ Calls on 1 September 2020, which will be open until 14 September 2020. The EC is designing and creating its
missions, aiming to deliver solutions to some of the greatest societal challenges, such as cancer, adaptation to climate change, healthy oceans, climate-neutral cities and healthy soil and food. As part of this process, a pilot platform has been also launched so that anyone can put forward and vote for preferred ideas. The opportunity to submit proposals will be open until 6 September, and voting will remain open until 14 September.
During the summer,
online events have been organised on these proposals to listen to people’s priorities and gather their ideas. The results of the latest call for ideas will be presented at the digital ‘
European Research & Innovation Days’, taking place on 22-24 September 2020. At this event, the Mission Boards will also handover their final missions recommendations to the EC. The selected missions will be announced by the end of 2020 and expected to be launched in 2021.
