EC announces new members of ESIR expert group

On 27 January 2020, the European Commission (EC) announced the new members of the ”Economic and Societal Impact of Research and Innovation” (ESIR) expert group, which consists of 16 experts who will aim at providing advice on future EU research and innovation policy in better supporting sustainable development and the EC President Von der Leyen’s priorities. The chair of the ESIR expert group is Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Co-President of the Club of Rome.   This group will now:
  • co-design policy briefs to provide European and national policy-makers with strategic advice on R&I and sustainability;
  • organise activities for the engagement of relevant stakeholders;
  • foster policy experimentation aiming at finding innovative public policies;
  • propose solution oriented-policy initiatives that address current major challenges.
