EARTO and 92 European Associations call for an Ambitious Horizon Europe Programme

EARTO, along with its research and industrial partners representing key European research & innovation stakeholders, has published a 3rd Joint Statement for an Ambitious Horizon Europe Programme. The 93 European associations signatories of this Joint Statement urge the EU Institutions to make research, development and innovation (RD&I) a priority within the next Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027.   The Statement calls on the Council of the EU to raise the budget allocated to the Horizon Europe programme to at least €120 billion (in 2018 prices). It also calls on EU Institutions to prioritise excellent cross-border collaborative RD&I with impact within Horizon Europe, and to allocate a budget share of at least 60% of Horizon Europe’s total budget to its pillar II – Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness.   EARTO and its co-signatories are fully convinced that Europe has the potential to lead the global innovation race and to remain a model of economic and social prosperity. For that, Europe needs to strongly invest in pan-European collaborative RD&I.   Read the full Joint Statement and see the full list of signatories
