EU Budget 2018: EP and the Council Reached an Agreement

The European Parliament and the Council reached a provisional agreement on the EU Budget for 2018 . The EP reversed the Council's cuts in the growth and jobs area. The two European institutions even increase the funding for Horizon 2020 (+€70 million) and COSME (+€15 million) in their deal. After the adoption of this agreement by the Council, the European Parliament will vote on 30 November.

This agreement "strengthens support for research, SMEs and education, which are the cornerstone of our competitiveness", the lead rapporteur Siegfried Mureșan said.
