EARTO New Paper: Towards Lump-Sums within FP9

Over the past years, EARTO, the European Association of Research and Technology Organisations, has remained a strong supporter of the European Commission (EC)’s efforts towards simplification of the EU R&I Framework Programmes (FP). EARTO members being very active participants in the FPs, especially in collaborative R&I projects, EARTO is glad to provide inputs and advice to support the EC’s efforts for a more efficient Framework Programme for R&I.

The EC services are now looking at the possibility to use a new approach to allow costs re-imbursement for the work performed within EU FP projects, based on lump-sums. In this context, the EARTO Working Group Financial Experts are sharing their experiences in a new paper summarising the main issues that a possible lump-sums’ approach in FPs would raise, covering the various phases of a project’s life cycle.

EARTO hopes that this paper will feed into the discussions on lump-sums along with the two pilot calls planned for H2020 Work Programme 2018-2020. EARTO remains at the EC services’ disposal to further discuss simplification of the EU R&I Framework Programmes.
