EC Publishes Report on Open Access of Publicly-Funded Research
The European Commission has published the results of the public consultation on open access, launched in July 2011. The report, “National Open Access and Preservation Policies in Europe”, gives an overview of how policies and strategies on open access and preservation have been developing in the European Research Area.
Findings show that while open access is backed by a growing number of universities, research institutes and funding agencies across Europe, developments to implement the concept vary from one country to the other.
The information contained in the document will serve as input for the further development of the ERA and in Horizon 2020.
